So, last night I finished off the Papa John's. Still wasn't great, even the third time around. But at least it's gone. It was also the first day of my new diet, and it went well! I lost about a pound! (Not real, I know, but still a nice feeling.) Today was day two and it was also oddly successful. I say odd because I didn't even have two seconds to try to eat something all day until about 4:00 (after starting at 7:30 am). And then I worked straight until about 6:30. Nothing like an 11-hour day with no break (I do think I went to the bathroom twice--probably four minutes total) to help out a diet.
So, I had pizza again for dinner! I took the kids for a walk (still beautiful here, FYI) and did some homework (going slightly better, although not by much--bar is currently quite low). Then, I had one of my NEW Totino's pizzas! I say new because I just got it after Jason ate all my old ones. But anyway, it was yummy. I like that the crust gets crisp. That's really important to me--crisp crust.
I also decided that mac and cheese is basically pizza--base here is noodles, still with melted cheese.
Yep, pretty much all I eat. Definitely on at least five days in a row... And I can't remember last Thursday. Maybe tomorrow I'll break the streak?

Another KU win! (And more pizza, but that's a given...)
So, after the crazy start to the day, I went to work and ran some resume workshops. It really annoys me that people are so flippant about kids missing events like these. We freaking put time and effort into planning these and take time out of our day to be there. When they miss, it's really obnoxious. I think I'm going to send an email to the advisors tomorrow.
Anyway, more pizza again tonight! I thought I would eat the rest of my Papa John's (disappointing, but pizza nonetheless, and I've already paid for it...) but I only ate half. Score! A whole third meal out of it! Often I can kill a PJ order in two sittings. Of course, now I'm about to start DietPower for real. Which is going to suck. I bought salad supplies today. I'm going to have to find time to cook, too... Sad, because I really like eating, but I like not being fat, too...
Anyway, more importantly, pizza still wasn't great, but was edible. And KU won! Rock Chalk! Sweet sixteen! This team is so fun to watch. I hope they keep playing well. And I still have more pizza leftovers, which I'll have to finish and bring into the diet mix... This'll be interesting.

Fleur + KU win = Success!
So Friday night I finished getting my hair cut (it's MUCH darker now, by the way--I can really see this one) and I order my Fleur on the way home. I try to start watching the KU game, which had started about a half an hour earlier, and it didn't record! Stupid dvr. It still had it on the list of scheduled recordings, too. So annoying. But, apparently they played like crap in the first half anyway. So second half, Fleur in hand, KU cruised to victory! Yay! I went cheese, by the way. It was decent. One of their puffier renditions and not super-toasty hot, which tends to happen when they're busy. But nice and cheesy, not too much sauce. No Fleur for today's game (Sunday), but if they win and play again this weekend, I might go veggie. We'll see. There might also be Fleur in my life before the weekend...
Of course, that wasn't my only pizza of the weekend. Saturday I decided not to go to the parade after all. It was my first Saturday to chill and not many people were going to be just watching, anyway. I was going to go hang out with Stephanie, but just decided to stay home. I did meet up with Candice and Kimmie for drinks at the Bulldog later, though. And then when I got home, I ordered Papa John's. (Finally went to the grocery store today, so I now have food in the house again. Any by food, I mean frozen pizzas.) So, I felt like there weren't any good deals, so I tried to create one by getting a spinach alfredo pizza that was on sale and then added other toppings (mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes). Sadly, not great. Oh well, you can't win them all. Not every pizza will be great. (I still ate it, of course. And the cheesesticks were delicious as usual.)
So today, brunch at Mason's Grill was on the agenda. And an omelet is really just a pizza but with egg as the base. Really, any dish where you have a base (dough, tortilla, egg, etc.), throw on some veggies and cheese, and cook it until the cheese is melted, is basically a pizza. Yum. Sadie, however, did not seem to think I should enjoy my omelet (and bottomless mimosa, of course). So she decided to find rat poison this morning. Again! How does she do that? I had decided to clean out the upstairs hall closet. Didn't even know there was rat poison in there, clearly. So I see her in the closet and make her get out and she has something in her mouth, so I make her drop it. Nice little block of poison. Excellent. So, we made a fun trip to the new Sherwood South emergency clinic! I've just been waiting for the opportunity to test it out! She's fine, of course, and actually didn't seem to really ingest any at all. (Nothing in her vomit.) But, she's on vitamin K now and we'll go back in three weeks to make sure she didn't do any damage. Idiot.
So I made it to brunch, albeit an hour late. But I still got my omelet (breakfast pizza) and mimosa! And then I went to Target and bought more frozen pizza! I'll probably have my leftover Papa John's tonight...

First Slice!
So, I had a slice of pizza tonight! After I wrote the last post, Kimmie texted and I met up with her at Indigo, the new hotel across the street from the Hilton. We met her friend Deanna (sp?) there and then went to Schlitz and Giggles so Kimmie could eat. And I had a slice of GREASY cheese pizza! Man, I like pizza. Even greasy. Anyway, first official slice. But not the first official pizza, which will still be from Fleur de Lis. Because nothing else would be of a high enough caliber... And by the way, I think the quesadilla = Mexican pizza, if I haven't mentioned that already... I'm sure that's coming soon, too!
Prologue
I actually had pizza for dinner Monday night. I had one of my frozen Totino's three-cheese pizzas. Cheap, fairly low-cal, and easy to make. Limited dish dirtying, which is important when you don't have a dishwasher. It was pretty decent. The sad part, though, was that it was my only one, because Jason had eaten the rest of them. And all my mac and cheese! He is apparently a man after my own heart, seeking out easy-to-make-processed-cheesy-foods whenever possible. I need to go to the grocery store, since I haven't been in a while (hadn't even gone in a while before the trip to St. Louis because of Mardi Gras). But, it's been a busy week with my (crappy) midterm, Claire's dinner, and just being back at work after being out. Positive, though, is that I was able to get caught up at work pretty quickly.
Speaking of, kind of a crazy day at work today. One of my students has been missing stuff all week (during midterms, mind you!) and I finally got him in today. I asked what was up and he told me that he's been distracted because he just found out that the man who raised him as a father might not actually be his biological father. That's a fun thing to handle when you're 19. Or 31. Or ever. Definitely a new one to me. As Derek said, that's not in the job description. But I was glad he was willing to talk to me. He said I was the first person he had told. Hopefully I was helpful, but I'd really like him to talk to a professional...
Anyway, I think my first official pizza since your arrival in Mexico will likely occur tomorrow night--I'm thinking Fleur for the basketball game, after I hang out with Kate and get my hair cut. (Another shade darker, here I come!) Fleur has to be good luck, right? Rock Chalk!
